Description
Since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, the Polish Chamber of Commerce has been actively involved in aiding the victims of the Russian invasion and providing humanitarian support to all those in need from that country.
Responding to the growing daily needs related to helping those affected by the armed conflict in Ukraine, the Board of the Polish Chamber of Commerce decided to donate EUR 10,000 to the Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce in Kyiv and PLN 100,000 to the Ukraine Relief Fund.
The response from companies has been overwhelming, with many engaging in efforts to support Ukraine. In addition to individual actions by chambers of commerce affiliated with the Polish Chamber of Commerce, a financial collection was initiated in cooperation with the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, resulting in the creation of the Ukraine Relief Fund. The management of this fund has been entrusted to the PUCC, which, besides having an office in Warsaw and 11 representatives in Poland, also has a main office in Kyiv and 11 representatives in Ukraine, ensuring the effectiveness of the aid efforts. Assistance has reached places affected by the war, as well as war refugees residing in Poland.
Humanitarian aid provided amounts to over half a million PLN, funding the purchase of medical supplies, electronic equipment such as walkie-talkies, tablets, phones, power banks, personal protective equipment like bulletproof vests, knee pads, tactical gloves, backpacks, sleeping bags, sleeping mats, fire extinguishers, and food for children.
