Integration Process
“Rīgas satiksme” participates in job fairs organized by Riga City Council and specifically includes information in their vacancy announcements inviting Ukrainian civilians to apply. Initially, the company’s customer service specialists at the Ukrainian support center helped issue free public transport services. During this period, “Rīgas satiksme” employees provided Ukrainians with information about job opportunities, and the company employed several Ukrainians in the support center for service provision.
Challenges and Lessons Learned
The integration process was greatly facilitated by the ability of Ukrainians to complete necessary formalities at the Ukrainian support center. Employees of “Rīgas satiksme” were able to contact support center staff when needed for clarification. Cooperation with Ukrainians has been positive, as many jobseekers had the necessary qualifications and skills for positions at “Rīgas satiksme.”
