Kick-off of the project in the Polish Chamber of Commerce
The Polish Chamber of Commerce proudly implemented the AWE Project – the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs – an initiative originating from the White House and executed by the U.S. Department of State. Launched in Warsaw on March 7, 2024, the project was a tribute to International Women’s Day, which is celebrated on March 8 in Poland.
The AWE Project offered a comprehensive program designed to support Ukrainian women through a series of on-site trainings. Thirty participants engaged in 10 sessions led by qualified trainers from ENEBA Training & Coaching. This initial phase provided essential business tools training, equipping participants with the knowledge and skills needed to create and manage their own business plans or enhance existing enterprises.
Throughout the project, participants focused on developing their business plans. A key component of the program was English language classes with a Ukrainian teacher, aimed at improving language skills and boosting participants’ competencies. In addition, Ms. Irena Lichnerowicz-Augustyn, Director of the Diplomatic Protocol at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, led sessions on Diplomatic Protocol, Practical Etiquette and Business Etiquette. The participants also received training on social media basics and its application to their businesses. Collaboration with the Polish-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce led to the “Business in Practice – Step by Step” training. The program culminated in a pitching workshop where participants presented their business ideas. A carefully selected panel evaluated these presentations and chose the seven best plans.
Additionally, as part of the project, 15 participants, accompanied by a representative from the Polish Chamber of Commerce, traveled to Ljubljana. There, they met with representatives from eight European countries involved in the AWE project for Ukrainian women. The visit included a series of trainings, workshops, and mentoring sessions. The trip concluded with a competition in which participants presented their business ideas. Three winners from each country were selected and awarded monetary prizes, and among them was a participant from Poland.

The success of the AWE Project demonstrates the significant impact of structured training and mentorship. It underscores the importance of supporting refugees and providing them with the tools needed to succeed. We are optimistic about the future and confident that initiatives like the AWE Project will continue to drive positive change. Congratulations to everyone involved for their hard work and dedication.
